Herb n Berries is a certified organic U-Pick blueberry farm in Montmorenci SC owned by Cathy and Ed Kvartek. There are approximately 1250 blueberry bushes that were planted in 2008 and 2009. As the season progresses, pre-picked blackberries as well as pre-picked vegetables grown at the farm (peppers, tomatoes, cucumbers, and eggplant) are available.

We have nine varieties of blueberries selected to provide good tasting berries throughout the season. The picking season is determined by the weather and usually begins in the middle of May and lasts through July, weather permitting.

• Feel free to taste the berries to make sure you like what you are picking. However, the farm is not a buffet. Please pick, pay, and then eat.



• Buckets are provided for picking - gallon size for adults and smaller ones for children. A limited number of bucket harnesses are available for adults (sorry kids) who want to pick with both hands. The harnesses can only be used once a day so they can be washed between pickers and are available on a first come basis. Our buckets are lined with a bag to take your berries home. You can also use your own container. If you would like to use your own container please allow us to pre-weigh it to make check out easier.
• We do not have an age limit for pickers, but children must be accompanied by an adult at all times whether they are in the field, getting a drink of water, going to the bathroom, etc.
• We follow USDA National Organic Program requirements and are limited in the chemicals we can use. While picking, be aware there may be fire ants in the field. We try our best to control fire ants, but it is difficult to get rid of all of them. For this reason, we encourage wearing closed toe shoes and socks - especially for children. Please tell us about any ant beds you find. Sunscreen and hats are also a good idea.
• Because of GAP (Good Agricultural Practices) guidelines, pets are not permitted in the fields or near the barn. In addition, smoking, vaping, or the use of smokeless tobacco at the farm is not permitted.
• When you are ready to take a break from picking, we have cold water and seating under a covered porch as well as a restroom.
